In general the ancient Chinese medical texts cite that it enters the Lung, stomach, and spleen. The flavor of pearled barley is bland (slightly sweet), and it is considered to be cool in temperature.
Pearl barley, or pearled barley, is barley that has been processed to remove its hull and bran. All barley must have its fibrous outer hull removed before it can be eaten; pearl barley is then polished to remove the bran layer.
To reduce swelling eat pearl barley soup. To treat damp heat conditions combine pearl barley with mung beans and eat daily. For skin lesions and heat conditions blend barley and water, boil, and drink the liquid. For skin lesions with pus discharge make powder from pearl barley and apply to the local area. For acne mix pearl barley with aloe vera gel and apply the mixture as a facial mask every night before bed. The facial mask can be left on overnight and washed off in the morning. [22]
